COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Randy Billie Dalton, born on June 13, 1958, in Cookeville, Tennessee, left this earth on Saturday February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving friends and family, as he ran into the arms of his Heavenly Father. His journey through life was marked by his unwavering faith, deep love for his family and community, and a passion for the joy of sports.
A 1976 graduate of Putnam Senior High and a proud 1980 alumnus of Tennessee Tech University, Randy devoted his professional life to the banking industry, where he was respected as a vice president of commercial loans. His career was a reflection of not just his skill but also his commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Randy was a man who believed in the power of service, contributing much to his community through various boards, including the Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic.
In every aspect of his life, he was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, known to many simply as a "great guy." Randy cherished family deeply, leaving behind his wife, Nanci Pickard Dalton; his mother, Judy Dalton Adams; sons, Billie (Darcy) Dalton and Ryan Dalton; daughter, Abbi (Jared) Turner; brother, Robert (Beth) Dalton; and eight grandchildren, with an expectant grandchild on the way in July 2026. He is also survived by his stepsons, Joshua Eich and Timothy (Molli) Keyt, and stepbrother, Randy (Debbie) Adams.
An avid sports fanatic, Randy’s heart belonged to Tennessee Vols football and Tennessee Tech baseball. He found immense joy in coaching youth baseball, sharing his passion with countless kids and instilling in them a love for the game. Additionally, he served as a TSSAA football official with the North Central Football Officials Association, embodying his deep respect for the sport while nurturing a sense of community among young athletes.
Randy's personality shone through in every interaction; he was a generous spirit, known for his kindness and dedication. His love for family was apparent in everything he did, and his legacy will be felt not only by those he leaves behind but also by the many lives he touched along the way.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, February 23, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Paul Ramsey, Jr. will officiate. His family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Detwiler, Bob Miller, Larry Burks, Tony Gammon, Bob Campbell, David Uhlman, Sam E. Allen, Terry Kelley, Pat Swallows, Graham Hatcher, Dr. Toney Hudson and Zach Buckner.
