TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FELONY ARREST
PUTNAM COUNTY, TN—On February 18, 2026, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted
a traffic stop at Baxter Rd and Cookeville Boat Dock Rd after observing a Nissan Frontier failing to
maintain its lane, crossing over the double yellow lines twice.
Deputies made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and observed a female in the rear passenger
seat, later identified as Megan Webb. Webb had her pants unbuttoned and opened, and she appeared to
be reaching into the front of her pants. Deputies gave verbal commands for Webb to show her hands;
however, she continued to reach into the front of her pants.
In the seat beside Webb, Deputies observed a piece of burnt tin foil with brown and white residue, a
lighter, and a cut straw.
Webb was removed from the vehicle and admitted to Deputies she was attempting to hide parapherna-
lia. Deputies located a clear plastic bag with white powder in Webb’s waistband. Webb later admitted
that additional narcotics were concealed within her body.
Webb was transported to the Putnam County Jail and a strip search was conducted that revealed a small
bag containing 8 Xanax pills, a bag containing approximately 30 grams of a crystal-like substance be-
lieved to be methamphetamine, and a bag containing approximately 10 grams of a white powdery sub-
stance believed to be Fentanyl.
Megan Webb was arrested and charged with Manufacture, Delivery, Sell of Fentanyl; Manufacture, De-
livery, Sell of Methamphetamine; Manufacture, Delivery, Sell of Xanax; Tampering with Evidence; and
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Webb has a bond set at $110,000 and a court date of March 4, 2026.
Sheriff Farris said, “This traffic stop demonstrates the importance of proactive patrol by our Deputies.
The amount of fentanyl recovered could have had devastating consequences to our community. I remain
committed to removing these illegal narcotics from the streets of Putnam County.”
