TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO FENTANYL ARREST

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN—On Thursday April 9, 2026, Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a
traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Tara Rodgers, was found to have a revoked driver’s license.
Rodgers was taken into custody.
A search of Rodgers person revealed approximately 14 grams of suspected Fentanyl.
Tara Rodgers was transported to the Putnam County Jail and charged with Manufacture, Delivery, and

Sell of Fentanyl, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Driving on a Revoked Driver’s License. Rodg-
ers has a bond set at $43,500 and a court date of April 15, 2026.

Sheriff Farris said, “As your Sheriff, I’ve always made it clear that illegal drug activity will not be
tolerated in Putnam County. Whether its Methamphetamine or Fentanyl, we’re going to continue
