Election Day is almost here, and Highlands Insider has published a two-part 2026 Guide to the Polls to help voters learn more about the candidates appearing on the August 6 ballot.

Part 1 features candidates for Cookeville City Council, Putnam County Commission and Putnam County Mayor.

Part 2 includes additional candidate profiles, questionnaire responses and voter-history information. Candidates were presented using the same format so readers can compare their backgrounds, qualifications, priorities and positions.
