Mrs. Geneva Davis

"Jesus Loves You and so do I".  Funeral services for Mrs. Geneva Davis, age 95 of Cookeville, was held Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Life Church-Cookeville.  Donnie Davidson and Eddie Turner officiated the Interment following at Bear Creek Cemetery.

Her family received friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time which began at 1:00 p.m. at Life Church-Cookeville.

Geneva Davis passed away on Thursday September 10, 2026, at the age of 95. She was born on April 5, 1931, in Putnam County, Tennessee, and lived a life marked by devotion, consistency, selflessness, and a deep love for Jesus.

A 1949 graduate of Algood School, Geneva spent her years in work that reflected both care and dedication. She served as a teacher at Head Start early education and later worked on the assembly line at Fleetguard until her retirement. In every season of her life, her faith remained at the center. Her life mission was for everyone to have salvation through Jesus Christ, and she served for many years in jail ministry up until she passed away.  Those who knew her will remember that she always had time for people.

Geneva’s proudest accomplishments were rooted in faith and family. Her relationship with Jesus was the foundation of her life, and her love for Jesus, along with her family’s love for Jesus, meant more to her than anything else. She was also deeply proud of being a mother and nanny to her family and to those she ministered to, offering care, guidance, and love in ways that left a lasting mark on many lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Rev. Halton "Hal" Davis; her father, Robert Thompson; her mother, Clara Thompson; and by  her sister, Gladys Burgess.

She leaves behind a loving family who adored her and will continue to cherish her memory: her children, Pamela (Warren) Stewart, Mark (Tina) Davis, David (Karen) Davis, Peggy (Chuck) Karlosky, and Bobby (Jennifer) Davis; her sister, Sue Cobble; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty four great grandchildren. The love she gave to her family, and the faith she lived before them, will remain a lasting gift. Her presence as a mother, nanny, and steady source of encouragement will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

Geneva’s life was a testimony of faith, service, and love. She gave generously of herself, pointed others toward Jesus, and made room in her life for the people around her. Her memory will be treasured by all who were blessed to know her.  

Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to the jail ministry at Life Church in her honor.
